One of our fave appetizers or quick light dinners recipes is Air Fryer Chicken Wings. Instead of deep-frying them, using an air fryer gives them the same “fried feel”, without all the caloric guilt and artery-clogging oil.

Our all time favorite wing flavor was from a restaurant that unfortunately is no longer open, but they had the best Pineapple Sweet Chili sauce to smother the wings in.

Serious Foodie has a Vietnamese Sweet Chili Hot Sauce and we knew we had to give that a try on our wings. We knew this would bring the ultimate Air Fryer Sweet Chili Wings recipe and we were right!

We are also trying to add in more veggies, especially when we tend to just to want to eat the unhealthy stuff, so we made Air Fryer Broccoli coated in the Asian Fusion Sweet/Spicy Rub and it paired perfectly with the wings.

We also wanted to say that the rub would’ve been amazing on the wings too. We had a few “naked” wings left over that we sprinkled a little rub on after they cooked and – let’s just say, YUM!

We even used the Sri Lanka Coconut Lime Hot Sauce on a few of the extra wings and it was another spicy bite of heaven.

Ingredients to make Air Fryer Broccoli and Chicken Wings.

Ingredients

  • chicken wings – we use our farm raised chicken wings from our farm. Grown, raised and processed by us. We know how they’re raised, exactly what they’re fed and that they’re “processed” in a safe and humane way.
  • broccoli – use fresh from the garden or frozen florets, whatever you have on hand. We were out of fresh, so frozen it was.
  • Serious Foodie rub and sauce – check out the variety of flavors here.

How to Make Air Fryer Wings and Broccoli

  1. Start by adding your rub spices to one Mason Jar and your sauce to another.
  2. Add broccoli to your spice jar, put lid on and ring on and shake to coat broccoli in rub spices. Then put in Air Fryer basket and cook on 350 for 5 minutes.
  3. Once done, shake the basket, add more seasoning if you think necessary and fry for another 3-5 minutes depending on how crispy you like your broccoli florets.
  4. Put your wings in Air Fryer and lightly spray with spray oil, coat both sides so they don’t stick to the basket. Cook on 375 for 18 minutes.
  5. Add wings to your sauce jar, put lid and ring on. Shake to coat wings evenly. May need to do in batches depending on how many wings you’re cooking.
  6. Put wings back in Air Fryer Basket and cook for another 5-7 minutes. Check the internal temperature of your chicken to ensure it’s safe to eat (165F) before consuming. You may need to cook longer depending on internal temperature.
  7. Enjoy wings and broccoli!

Variations, Tips & Tricks

  • Cooking times may vary from Air Fryers depending on make and model. Please consult your owners manual and, of course, check internal temperature of meat to ensure that it’s safe to eat before consuming.
  • Feel feee to use more sauce or spices on either item. We could always pour on more sauce but didn’t want it to be too hot or spicy.
  • Make sure to stir the sauce before adding to your wings.
  • Use a spoon to grab all the chili flakes and yummyness from the bottom of the jar when adding to your wings.
  • We recommend adding the spice rub to the jar before adding in broccoli to coat it otherwise you’re pouring a bunch of spices just on the top few pieces of broccoli in the jar. And it’s easier to shake and costs better with it all starting at the bottom.
  • Use tongs to get the wings and veggies out of the Air Fryer so you don’t burn yourself.
  • If you have them, use 2 different Air Fryers at the same time to minimize cooking time. We have 2 and use them ALL the time.
  • Make sure your chicken wings are not in multiple layers in the Fryer, they won’t cook evenly. Only put them in one layer in the basket.
  • We recommend getting air Fryer liners if you can, this saves a lot of time and energy scrubbing when cleaning up later.
  • If you like crispier wings or crispier broccoli, cook a few minutes longer but keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
  • Don’t skip spraying your wings with oil before cooking them or you’ll end up with wings stuck to the basket.
  • Pair this with a delicious Pineapple Screwdriver Cocktail to really get your tastebuds going.

Can You Use Fresh Broccoli?

You bet, you can Air Fry fresh broccoli. It doesn’t matter if you want to use fresh or frozen veggies. They both will work. You may need to adjust your cook time.
