Helpful Tips

Follow these tips if you don’t want to make any mistakes on your first try at making this easy appetizer:

  • Avoid overlapping tortellini in the air fryer if you want to cook them evenly. If you put them over each other or they overlap, they will become soggy. Place tortellini in a single layer in the basket. You may need to work in batches.
  • Don't overcrowd the basket, air fry tortellini in batches and leave room around the tortellini so the hot air can circulate around the remaining tortellini to cook them.
  • There are many flavors of tortellini that you can choose to make. Pick the one that you and your family love the most and you can make it following the instructions listed here.
  • To enjoy the best flavor, it’s recommended to serve them hot. You can store them if you have leftovers, but making them with fresh tortellini and serving them immediately is recommended.

Recipe Variations

Use seasoned bread crumbs - Regular plain bread crumbs will also work to add more flavor to this recipe.

Don’t like Italian seasoning? That’s not the only option for this recipe, as you can also use taco or asada seasoning. Add some heat to the mix by adding some crushed red pepper flakes or drizzling with sriracha sauce.

Use any oil for cooking - Olive oil is the best for this recipe, but if you don’t have it or don’t want to use it, you can use any neutral flavored oil of your choice.

Add some marinara sauce - It’s optional but will be a delicious addition to the fried tortellini. Once your tortellini is cooked, you can add this sauce to dip in. If you aren't feeling marinara, try your favorite pizza sauce or other favorite tomato sauce. You can serve with any dipping sauces that you enjoy.
