Cranberry Apple Margarita

Welcome to the flavor of fall! This Cranberry Apple Margarita recipe proves that you can sip the day away while literally watching the leaves change colors. This Cran Apple Margarita is one of my favorite fall cocktails because of the perfectly balanced apple-cranberry taste!

We’re BIG fans of all things apple. It’s just one of those fruits that can be used in so many types of recipes. This Apple Pie Cocktail is proof of that!

And while we’re in love with hints of apple in every sip, we’re also pretty crazy about that burst of cranberry goodness as well. We like to call this our “Thanksgiving cocktail recipe that rolls into our favorite Christmas drink” because it’s really versatile for the fall months of the year and the holiday season!

If you’re a fan of that apple flavor, then you MUST try this Apple Cider Sangria. Trust us, it’s so good!

Variations

Get fancy. Adding in a cocktail shaker is a super fun way to let that inner bartender shine! It’s not a requirement, but it’s fun to use.

Change up the rim garnish. If you don’t want to use brown sugar, regular sugar or a combination of sugar and cinnamon would be so good.

Tips

  • To get the sugar to stick to the rim, you have options. Dip the mason jar rim in water and then dip it right into the sugar, OR put water on a clean finger and slide it around the rim of the jar, and then dip it into the sugar.
  • If you notice that you don’t have cinnamon sticks, don’t fret. You can sprinkle in a bit of ground cinnamon to get that flavor.

Can I use apple juice instead of apple cider?

Yes, you can! Apple cider tends to have more of a balanced flavor and isn’t quite as sweet as apple juice, but you can use either one. If you’re using apple juice, you might want to pour it through a strainer just be sure that there aren’t any bits of apple.

Can I prepare this ahead of time?

Margaritas are actually best served fresh, in our opinion, but you can still make it ahead of time. Just be sure to give it a good stir or shake before drinking if you prep it early so that all the ingredients mix back up the way they’re supposed to.

Do you serve this over ice?

You can if you want! This is a great drink recipe served chilled or over ice. Drink it as you want it!
