What is a Cranberry Bourbon Slush?

Bourbon slush recipes are just like they sound. Perfectly sweetened without being over the top and with a texture that will remind you of the slushies that you used to get from the 711 as a kid. It's a refreshing drink that every adult over the age of 21 will love.

Variations

Trade out the bourbon - You can also make this drink using vodka or whiskey. Whatever you'd prefer! A cranberry whiskey slush or a vodka cranberry slush sound pretty amazing as well!

Add some sugar around the rim - If you like your drinks sweeter, dip the rim of your cocktail glass is sugar.

Drop in some fresh cranberries - Adding fresh cranberries are a fun garnish and just might freeze up a bit when added to the slush. This would look fun and festive and be fun to eat as well.

Freeze fresh cranberries - Put a bag of fresh cranberries in the freezer and then use them as the "ice cubes" in this drink to keep it nice and cool.

Tips & Tricks

  • Take a sip before you start making any changes or additions. The drink does have a natural sweetness from the cranberries and cranberry juice so enjoy a sip before altering or adding other sweetness.
  • Pair this slushie with appetizers or save it for the end of the day to put up your feet and relax.
  • Make sure that you blend all the ingredients well or you'll have big chunks of ice in your mix.

Will This Cranberry Slush With Bourbon Water Down Quickly?

It might. It just depends on how fast you're going to drink it. Since your just blending up ice to get the slushie consistency, that will start to melt once you hold the glass.

If you're worried about it watering down, just make a plan to sip quickly or have it sitting on the table and use a straw to keep the warmth of your hands from melting it faster.

You could even try one of the fancy mason jar sleeves that help keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot.

Can you store this cocktail for later?

We don't recommend it. Since this recipe is written for one, make it fresh and enjoy.

If you double the recipe and can't drink it all, you can attempt to freeze it but there's a high probability that it won't refreeze as well.

Fresh is always best when it comes to cocktails and alcoholic beverages. (in our opinion - but...we like to think we're right!)
