🥕 How To Make The Immunity Shot

You are only a few short steps away from creating this immunity shot.

  1. First, get your food processor set up and place all of the ingredients inside. Switch on the food processor for 2 minutes until the fruit is completely pulverized.
  2. Next up you will need to place your cheesecloth inside your mesh strainer and place the strainer over a large bowl.
  3. Pour your blended ingredients into the cheesecloth and mesh strainer. Leave it to strain for around 10 minutes or until you are satisfied that it is fully strained. Stir the pulp periodically to enable the juice to flow through the cheesecloth and strainer.
  4. Once you are happy that the juice has strained through the strainer you can discard the pulp. You can choose to strain again if you want to ensure there is no further pulp in the immunity shot or transfer the juice to an airtight container or mason jar with a lid.
  5. Store your immunity shot juice in the fridge and drink 2-6 oz of it per day to help boost your immune system.

All about Tumeric

Turmeric is a well-known ingredient that has been proven to help boost immunity. This is because curcumin, which is found in turmeric, has anti-inflammatory properties that can help boost your immune system. It is a great ingredient to add to an immune booster shot.

Recipe Variations

Not a fan of some of the fruit added to this immunity shot? You could omit the fruit you are not sure with and increase the quantities of the others. Or you could add other fruits that are great for the immune system including blueberries, grapefruit and pears.

What to add instead of water. If you want to add something other than water, you could add fresh citrus juices, like extra fresh orange juice for an added boost of Vitamin C, or coconut water instead.

What if you haven’t got a food processor? You can use a hand blender instead. Take time to ensure that you have pulverized the fruit enough before adding it to the strainer.

What else can I add to these immunity booster shots? Other ingredients like some of the fruit mentioned like blueberries, grapefruit and pears can all be added additionally to the simple ingredients already mentioned. Other ingredients you might want to add include cayenne pepper, things with high vitamin c content, lime juice, fresh lemon juice and lemon slices, and even a pinch of black pepper. If you want to take away some of the sharpness in flavor then why not add a little maple syrup?

Using fresh ingredients. This ginger shot recipe calls for the use of ground ginger, but you could add fresh ginger root to the food processor instead. The same can be said for fresh turmeric root.

Tips & Tricks

  • Take time to ensure that the fruit is strained properly. You want a pulp-free immunity shot, not something with lumps or seeds.
  • Make sure the fruit is completely pulvarized before straining. You want to be able to decant as much of the goodness as possible.
  • If your food processor doesn’t hold everything, you can use a high speed blender.
  • I recommend drinking this shot on an empty stomach so your body can fully get all of the health boosts for brain function, heart health and fight against heart disease, and immunity boosting benefits.

Storage

This is a great recipe to make ahead of time and will store perfectly in the refrigerator. You will need to transfer the completed juice into airtight containers or mason jars that you can seal with a lid. It will last 2-3 days.

Yes, this ginger turmeric shot recipe can be made ahead of time. This is a batch that could last you 2-3 days if you are sharing it with your family.

What is a good immunity shot?

A good immunity shot is filled with immunity booster herbs and fresh ingredients that you can juice together to create a shot that you can drink in the morning. They will help boost your immune system, and digestive system, help with your gut health or if you have an upset stomach, as well as have antioxidant properties.

Can you take immunity shots every day?

Most wellness shots, including this one, can be taken each day. This gives the ingredients a chance to get into your system to help give your immunity the boost it needs and improve things like digestive health. In fact, this is the perfect daily boost of vitamins and minerals that will help your overall energy levels and overall health.

How often should you take immunity shots?

You can take an immunity shot each day. If you are struggling with a cold or flu-type virus during flu season, you can even take more than one shot each day to give your body the goodness it needs to fight off the germs.

What is the difference between these delicious immunity shots versus a store-bought version?

When you make a homemade version, you know you are getting the good stuff. Making your own ginger shots means you know exactly what has gone into them. While store-bought versions will give you a quick dose of antioxidants, you need to be mindful of the added ingredients to preserve the juice for shelf life. Both will help with your body’s immune system, but you will know what has been added to your homemade turmeric ginger shots.

Some storebought shots include added sugar which is unnecessary, especially since there is quite a bit of natural sugars from the fresh fruit juice.
