How To Make Cookie Dip
- Get your stand mixer and paddle attachment ready to go. Toss your softened cream cheese in the mixer bowl and whip on medium speed for a few minutes.
- Start by adding in half your cookie mix and continue to whip together. Add in your heavy whipping cream to help things from clumping too fast, you may need to add a little more, depending on how you want your dip consistency to be. Keep in mind the dip should be thick, but not too dry.
- Transfer mix to Mason Jar, add sprinkles and enjoy dipping your dippables in the Frozen dip.
Whip Cream Cheese. Add in cookie mix and then heavy cream. Serve in jar with cookies.
What Is Cookie Dip
Cookie dip is usually a thicker dip that you can dunk your cookies in. This particular recipe has a sugar cookie flavoring from the sugar cookie mix. Instead of making cookies and icing them, many people are opting for homemade cookie dips as desserts and party menu items.
We do want to mention that cookie dips are generally different than cookie dough dips. Usually, cookie dough dip is an edible, eggless dip that is similar in taste and texture to unbaked cookie dough.
Recipe Variations
- Add other ingredients– we’ve tried this dip with a litlte Marshmallow fluff or Cool Whip added and boy was it delish! You could even add a dash of powdered sugar if you’re short on cookie mix.
- Trade out heavy whipping cream– if you’re out of it or want to use something else, you can try some coffee creamer. If you have sugar cookie flavored creamer that would compliment it nicely.
- Use this as a filling for a dessert– Use this sugar cookie dip as a filling for Whoopie Pies. Talk about INCREDIBLE! Just use the Chocolate Whoopie Pie dessert recipe we have and instead of making the peppermint filling, use this sugar cookie dip filling.

Tips & Tricks
- If you don’t have a stand mixer with attachments, you can use a mixing bowl and regular hand mixer, it may just take a little longer.
- If you like a lighter dip, whip the cream cheese, heavy whipping cream, and cookie mix a few extra minutes.
FAQ
How Do You Soften Cream Cheese?
Everyone always wants to know the answer. The best way to soften cream cheese is to let it sit on the counter in room temperature for about an hour or so before hand to let it soften and get to a workable consistency.
Please, don’t microwave your cream cheese to soften it.
If you’re short on time, you can try our butter softening technique of getting a Mason Jar or glass cup, filling it with boiling water and letting it sit for a few minutes. Then pour out the water, flip it upside down and stick it over the cream cheese package. This will help it soften up faster. Just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t melt and make a sticky mess on your counters.

What Do You Serve With Homemade Sugar Cookie Dip?
We think the options to dip in this are ENDLESS. But, here are a few of our favorites:
- Graham Crackers
- Gingersnap cookies
- Sugar Cookies
- Chocolate Chip Cookies from our homemade mix recipe
- Smear it ontop of a cake or pastry
- Pretzel Rods
- Marshmallows
- Practically anything else
How Do I Change The Theme?
Frozen not your thing or maybe you want to make this for another party after your Frozen party- no worries! This is a super simple trick! All you have to do is switch the sprinkles. Voila!!!
In fact, we have a Grinch dip coming soon that you will surely like if you like this sugar cookie dough dip.
Storage Recommendations
How Long Can This Be Left Out?
We recommend leaving this out on the counter, no longer than 2-3 hours. However, this dip is usually consumed in under an hour at our parties because it’s THAT GOOD!
Does It Need To Be Refrigerated?
If preparing this dip ahead of time, you should refrigerate it. If you do that, pull it out to soften up a bit before the party starts- say 30-45 minutes ahead or so and wait to add the sprinkles until you serve it so you can give it a good stir before officially serving.
