🥣 Helpful Tips

  • Adding in the slurry is optional, but it is a fast and simple way to create a thicker soup base.
  • If you use frozen broccoli in this recipe, give it a rinse under cold water to help thaw it a bit. This will help to make it less watery as well before adding it into the soup.

🍲 Recipe Variations

Here are some optional ingredients you may like!

Change up the cheese - We like using cheddar cheese, but you can easily change it up to any type that you'd like.

Add rice - If you want to add a bit more substance, add a very small amount of rice to the soup. This is also a simple way to thicken it up as well.

What side dishes pair well with soup?

We like to have a slice of bread or a bread roll as a side. Plus, it's yummy to dip into the soup as well. For a lighter option, you can always have a simple side salad.

Can you add other vegetables to broccoli soup?

You bet. If you want to add cauliflower or even onions, both are delicious and pair well with the rest of the ingredients.

What are good toppings for broccoli soup?

We love adding crushed crackers, shredded cheese, and even a little bit of hot sauce right on top!
