How To Make The Melted Snowman Milkshake

  1. Prep your ingredients and then the mason jars by covering the rim with frosting and then dipping in the frosting in the blue and white sprinkles. Set the decorated jars aside until you need them.
  2. Add chocolate melts to a microwave safe bowl and melt using 30-second intervals until completely melted. Stir in between intervals to help it melt. Be careful not to overdo this as the chocolate becomes bitter.
  3. Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping or plastic bag with a cut tip to drizzle inside the mason jars. Give each glass jar a drizzle.
  4. Add the scoops of ice cream, vanilla extract, and milk to the blender and blend until smooth.
  5. Pour freshly made milkshake into the decorated mason jar.
  6. Add whipped cream on top of the vanilla homemade milkshake and add the large carrot into the middle to act as the carrot nose of your snowman.
  7. Place the two pretzel sticks in the whipped cream on either side to look like the arms of the melting snowman.
  8. Place the 2 edible eyes on top to finish the snowman’s face. You could also use some black candies or black icing to create some coal buttons as well if you wish.
  9. Stick in a straw and enjoy!

Recipe Variations

Want to make this dairy-free and gluten-free? Then you could look to use dairy-free ice cream instead. It will still taste incredible. You can also substitute the milk for a non-dairy milk alternative.

Make it festive. You could use candy canes to make this melting snowman look a little more festive. They would make great arm alternatives to the pretzel sticks and they are also delicious.

A twist on the classic snowman. Why not make a dirty snowman instead? You could add some chocolate ice cream and use some chocolate shavings instead as decoration on the rim of the mason jar.

Want to make a version just for adults? You could add a cream liquor to this if you fancy making a version for just the adults to enjoy. Irish cream will work very well, as would white chocolate liquor. Delicious!

Tips & Tricks

  • If you don’t have a blender a hand blender will work just as well.
  • A great tip is to chill the glasses or mason jars in the refrigerator before adding the blended milkshake to it to keep the drink cold and refreshing.
  • Use mini marshmallows or a large marshmallow instead of whipped cream if you haven’t got any.
  • Instead of blue melting chocolate chips you could use white chocolate chips instead.

Storage

If you are making this ahead of time then you can blend up the milkshake and then add it to your mason jar and keep it in the freezer. Just let it sit out for 5-10 minutes and it will become drinkable again. You could also add this to a refrigerator but it will need a quick blitz or stir before serving.

This milkshake is best served straight away or frozen until you are ready to enjoy it.
