How to Make New Years Eve Pretzel Sparklers

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  2. Add almond bark to a microwave safe bowl and follow the package instructions to melt the almond bark. Commonly you need to use 30-second intervals and mix in between intervals. But, check with your specific instructions to see what they recommend.
  3. Dip a spoon in the chocolate and drizzle it all over the pretzel rod. We find that it is helpful to run the chocolate down the length of the rod, and then turn the rod to make sure it is fully covered. Use the spoon to wipe off excessive chocolate candy coating.
  4. Place pretzel rods on parchment paper and decorate with the sprinkles.
  5. Let pretzels dry before serving. You can place them in the fridge to harden faster.

Storage

Store your leftover decorated pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. You can keep them in the refrigerator if desired.

If keeping pretzels at room temperature, do not let them get so warm that the chocolate or almond bark starts melting again. These fun snacks need to be kept in a dry, cool place.

Recipe Variations

Trade out the chocolate. Instead of using almond bark, use any melting chocolate wafers, chocolate chips, white candy melts, or other melted chocolate drizzle. You can also use any flavored almond bark or chocolate.

Party Favors. Instead of serving these after your New Year's Eve food as dessert, save these to hand out as party favors!

Add other decorations. If you have more festive decorations to use other than a few sprinkles, feel free to add them on.
