Recipe Variations
Coffee Flavor: You can add 2 teaspoons of espresso powder to your brownie batter for a delicious mocha taste to these brownies.
Peanut Butter Brownies: If you love peanut butter and chocolate flavors together swirl in a couple of tablespoons of creamy peanut butter to your brownie batter.
Caramel Swirl: If you want more caramel flavor use a butter knife to swirl an extra squeeze of the store-bought caramel sauce into your brownie brownie before you bake them.

Tips & Tricks
- If you don’t want to make these in jars, you don’t have to! Just bake in
- Once you add the dry ingredients to your chocolate mixture be careful to not overmix. You want to mix until the dry ingredients are just combined. Overmixing could result in tough brownies.
- You don’t need a lot of water in your baking pan, you will need about one inch in the baking pan just enough to keep the brownies moist while they are baking.
- Different ovens may result in a different baking time so check the brownies for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the brownie. If it comes out clean the brownies are done.
- I used store-bought caramel sauce to save a little time in the kitchen however you can use homemade caramel sauce if you prefer.

FAQ
The key ingredients to keep your brownies soft and chewy are the amount of sugar, butter, and eggs used. For example, a higher amount of sugar will result in softer brownies.
Fudgy brownies have a higher ratio of butter, sugar, and eggs. Whereas cakey brownies have more dry ingredients; flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. If you want to make these more cake-like brownies then add an extra couple of tablespoons of flour to the batter.
Brownies should be stored at room temperature in an airtight container. If you don’t have a container store them inside of the mason jars with a lid on top. Refrigerated brownies become dry and hard so it’s best to leave them out at room temperature.
