- nondairy whipped cream – optional but HIGHLY recommended. We love this stuff.

Is the Pumpkin Spice Starbucks Latte Vegan?
That’s a hard no. Unfortunately, even if you order an Iced PSL using a cow’s milk alternative or non-dairy milk, you still can’t enjoy this latte recipe if you’re vegan.
The Pumpkin spice syrup that they use contains milk in the ingredients. So, this delicious cup of fall pumpkin perfection isn’t an option for you.
BUT, that’s one of the many reasons we created this amazing Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe for you! It’s easily customizable and safe for those who need a dairy-free option or follow a vegan diet.
What Milk Should You Use In A Vegan Pumpkin Latte?
We recommend using oat milk since the consistency is most similar to cow’s milk. However, if you don’t have oat milk, you can use any other milk alternative shared in the variations section below.

How Do You Store Leftover Pumpkin Puree?
Great question! Since you only need part of a can, or a few scoops of the pumpkin puree, you will probably want to save the rest of it for other delicious things like pumpkin pie or a pumpkin pie smoothie. YUM!
You can put your leftover pumpkin puree in an air tight container, like a mason jar and put it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
If you can’t use your puree that fast, you can certainly freeze it for up to 3 months.
To Freeze Pumpkin Puree:
- Pour leftover pumpkin puree into ice cube trays to freeze into small, individual serving sizes.
- Once the ice cube trays are frozen, pop the puree cubes out and place in freezer safe containers for up to 3 months.
- Make sure to label your puree cubes with the date, use by date and what it is.

Delicious Pumpkin Spice Vegan Latte Variations
- Change sweeteners– instead of white sugar, you could use brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, agave, Stevia or just omit the sweetner altogether for a Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte.
- Make it a frappe– Change the consistency and make your favorite Pumpkin Spice Frappuccion instead by adding 1-2 cups of ice and blend it all together. Adjust ice as necessary to get your desired consistency.
- Swap milk– you can use coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, pea milk or oat milk (like we did). If being dairy free or vegan isn’t a necessity you can always use cow’s milk (whole, 1% or 2%, skim or even, whole milk)
- Add extra toppings – To really bring some EXTRA to this Latte, add a drizzle of your favorite toppings… think caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, nutella, more cinnamon or even mini chocolate chips.
- Add a dash of vanilla– adding a dash of vanilla brings some depth and smooth flavor to this creamy, delicious latte.
Vegan PSL Tips & Tricks
- Be sure to use pumpkin puree, or pure fresh pumpkin. Don’t use Pumpkin pie filling. It will give you a different texture and taste.
- Always check your spices and ingredients to ensure that they’re vegan, or dairy free, or whatever your dietary needs are. Spices are a common place that they can hide sneaky ingredients that you wouldn’t expect. Or use your own Pumpkin Spice recipe.
